Speed Awareness

ETD’s Driver Awareness Course will help you maintain safe speeds to reduce your chances of road collisions.

Speed is a contributory factor in most serious road accidents. If something unexpected happens on the road, it’s a driver’s speed that will determine whether they can stop in time. If they can’t stop, the driver’s speed will also determine the impact speed – and the likely outcome.

The stats are terrifying: a person hit at 30 mph has a 20% chance of being killed. If they are hit at 35 mph, this rises to nearly 35%. However, for every 1 mph that you cut your speed, your chance of a collision drops by around 5%.

This national speed awareness course promotes safe driving and will help you understand the importance of speed awareness. You’ll refresh your knowledge on speed limits and stopping distances to stay safe on the road.
