Introduction:

This course will cover why it is necessary for the inspection and testing of electrical equipment in the workplace, what is inspection and testing of electrical equipment, why we test electrical equipment, who should carry out inspection and testing, what is involved in inspection and testing, The types of equipment, the legislation on inspection and testing and of course health and safety.

 

Who the course is aimed at:

 Only the person or persons who have taken a course and passed the in-service inspection and testing of electrical Equipment (PAT Testing) exam and are competent in the work they are doing and performing PAT Testing. By completing this online course, it does not in any way or form qualify you in electrical engineering or similar qualification. This course should be used as guidance.

Training Outcomes:

 

Recognise the importance of PAT Testing your work equipment.

Know what PAT Testing is.

Understand the difference between the key electrical classes.

Know the different tests and checks that are performed in PAT Testing.

Demonstrate the key principals of workplace health and safety

 

Test and Certification:

At the end of the course you will be given a test of 20 multiple choice questions. The required pass rate is 85%.

You will be able to download and print (if required) a digital certificate on completion of the course.

Main course certificates last 3 years. (Refresher courses are available and recommended every 12 months).

 

Accreditation:

All our courses have been independently certified as conforming to universally accepted Continuous Professional Development (CPD) guidelines, which have also been approved by the IIRSM.

Main Course: Approximately 40 minutes (excluding time taken for the final exams).
